High School Students Request Courses Wednesday 1/28

Ninth, tenth and eleventh graders will request courses for the 2015-2016 school year this Wednesday, January 28th during their English classes. Students were given course request worksheets and the 2015-2016 Course Catalog this past Wednesday. Parents should discuss course selection with their children and make sure that students get teacher recommendations and signatures prior to the 28th.

Kindergarten Registration for the 2015-2016 School Year will begin February 2, 2015.
If your child will be 5 years old by September 30, 2015 and you are a resident of the North Royalton City School District, you are invited to register your child for Kindergarten. Starting February 2, 2015 you will be able to complete the online Pre-Registration which is the mandatory first step in the process. High School End of Semester Information

High School semester exam schedule begins tomorrow, Tuesday, January 13th.

Tomorrow’s schedule will consist of three exams for period 6/7 or 7/8, period 9, and period 10. Dismissal time is at 1:00 PM, and busses will transport students at this time.

On Wednesday and Thursday, two exams will be given each day with dismissal time at 11:00 AM. Busses will transport students home at 11:00 AM.

Concerning CVCC Students:

Junior CVCC students take our NRHS exams on Tuesday only. This means Junior CVCC students do not attend CVCC on Tuesday. Junior CVCC students do not have any NRHS exams on Wednesday and Thursday, but are still required to attend their CVCC programs in the morning, as usual.

Senior CVCC students do not have NRHS exams on Tuesday. Senior CVCC students will take their NRHS exams on Wednesday and Thursday only. The CVCC schedule for seniors will not be affected on any of the three exam days. CVCC seniors will attend their CVCC program on all three days, as usual. If any CVCC students have an alternate schedule, NRHS exams do take priority. A copy of the exam schedule can be found HERE.

Last, remember that students do not have school on Friday, January 16th or Monday, January 19th.

Event Cancellations 1/9 & 1/10

Boys Basketball vs. Elyria, Swimming vs. Mentor, and Wrestling at Perrysburg are cancelled for tonight, Friday, January 9.

For Saturday, January 10, Show Choir @ Grove City, and gymnastics vs. Hudson have been cancelled.

In addition, North Royalton High School will be open on Saturday from 9:00 am-12:00 PM and 3:00 pm-5:00 pm for any student wishing to get books and materials to prepare for next week’s semester exams.

It is suggested that students check Progressbook for any possible updates from individual teachers.

Announcing Reflections 2014-2015

“The World Would Be a Better Place If . . . .”

Here is a great opportunity for your students to flex their creative muscle. By writing creative pieces around this theme and entering the PTA Reflections program they will become eligible to win fantastic prizes courtesy of NRHS PTA and the possibility of going on the compete against other talented students from across the state.

Submission deadline is Friday, December 5th. Winner will be notified by December 10th. Only students going on to the state level need to fill out the entry form that will be supplied by NRHS PTA.

Literature Guidelines: Description: Fiction or non-fiction, prose, poetry, drama, song and/or lyrics. Length: not to exceed 2,000 words . Please make sure students clearly provide their name on the back of their work.
