Channel 5 Meteorologist Jason Nicholas paid a visit to Royal View Elementary in North Royalton Wednesday.
Nicholas visited Mrs. Hertel's third grade class at the school. Students learned about the difference between warm and cold fronts, how tornadoes form and the difference between hail and sleet.
The students also performed a few weather songs and told some hilarious weather jokes!

COLUMBUS—State Representative Dovilla (R-Berea) has announced the winners of his 3rd annual “Legislator for a Day” reading program.
Children in grades one through six participated in the program by receiving a bookmark from their school librarian or visiting the Berea, North Royalton, Olmsted Falls or Strongsville branches of the Cuyahoga County Public Library. After recording five books that they read on the back of the bookmark, the returned bookmark served as their entry to become a “Legislator for a Day.”
The winner of the "Legislator for a Day" contest at Royal View was Hannah Mantle.
“Our educational program experienced tremendous growth this year,” said Dovilla. “We had over 250 children participate, reading more than 2,400 books. I would like to acknowledge the encouragement of the students’ parents as well as the children’s librarians and teachers who promoted this worthwhile program.”
Winners will be receiving a VIP tour of the Ohio Statehouse on May 9, 2013, which will include participating in a mock legislative hearing and lunch with State Representative Dovilla.
