North Royalton City Schools Partner with Richard’s Automotive Repair to Help Victims of Hurricane Harvey
Hurricane Harvey Relief graphic Hurricane Harvey has left residents of Texas injured, with homes destroyed, waiting for the flood waters to recede. School families and staff of the North Royalton City Schools are doing their part to alleviate some of the sufferings.

Albion Elementary will hold a “Spirit/Pajama Day” this Friday, September 8. Students are asked to bring in a monetary donation to the American Red Cross to help the Hurricane Harvey victims. Royal View and Valley Vista Elementary will accept donations of water, toilet paper, toothbrushes, toothpaste, hair combs and brushes, non-perishable food and snacks, coffee, juice boxes and pouches, diapers, batteries, flashlights, baby and adult blankets in collection boxes set in the atrium of the buildings.

North Royalton Middle School will hold coin wars among each grade level during lunch periods between September 11 and 15 to raise money. They will also donate the proceeds from the Bears Den Café to the hurricane fund.

North Royalton High School is collecting the same items. Richard Hughes, a local North Royalton business owner, will also be collecting items in his shop, Richard’s Automotive Repair. In addition to being a local business owner, Hughes is a parent and Rotary member. He has volunteered to drive to Texas with the school’s donations, both monetary and physical, and deliver them on behalf of the Red Cross.

At the football game this Friday night at Serpentini Stadium, Hughes and the schools will be collecting money and items for hurricane relief and the Red Cross. The community is encouraged to bring items to donate.

Suggested items to donate include new infant, toddler, children's, men's and women's clothing. New socks, underwear, shirts, t-shirts, hats, gloves. Cases/pallets of water, Gatorade, juice boxes, etc. Canned goods, canned animal food, bags of dry animal food.
