Royal View Goes Passionately Pink for the Cure
On Thursday, October 29, Royal View Elementary students donned all pink in school-wide support of “Passionately Pink for the Cure.” The goal was to show support for those family, friends, community members and especially a current staff member who is battling breast cancer. Besides wearing pink, a “Wall of Hope” was constructed where students and staff filled out dedication sheets listing women they wanted to honor for their fight against breast cancer. Students and staff were also able to donate to the Susan G. Komen Foundation throughout the day.
“I think this is a wonderful way to bring awareness and show our support for those we know who are battling this disease,” said Principal Kirk Pavelich who proudly wore a pink tutu for the day.
This is the first year that Royal View has participated in the fundraiser for the Susan G. Komen Foundation but the staff is hoping to turn this into an annual event.
