From the FOX8 story:

NORTH ROYALTON, Ohio-- At nearly 1,600 students strong, North Royalton High School is FOX 8’s latest “Cool School.” Students and school leaders say the large student body feels surprisingly like a tight knit.

“We're so awesome because we come together when we need to and even when we don't need to,” said Gina Parsons, a senior at the high school.

Principal Sean Osborne said he inspire great leaders while making all students feel comfortable at school. As a North Royalton 1989 graduate, Osborne recently came back to the school district. He said he wanted to make a difference in the community that gave him a successful start in life.

“What really makes North Royalton High School special is we are a family,” Osborne said.

North Royalton is often referred to as NoRo Nation. Osborne said the focus is on the sports, academics and the arts.

Danielle Vivcharenko is proof of the latter. She was nominated for a Dazzle Award what she describes as a high school Tony for her role in the play “Big Fish.”

“I got to work with a Tony-nominated director down at Playhouse,” Vivcharenko said. “I got to perform at the Connor Palace Theatre and I just got so many opportunities because of doing what I love right here at home.”

NoRo is one of a few remaining schools that still offers metal and home maintenance classes.

Over the years, Osborne said the high school was ranked in the nation’s top 1,000 public high schools in Newsweek.
