North Royalton City Schools Earns Auditor of State with Distinction Award Once Again
The North Royalton City School District has been awarded the Auditor of State Award with Distinction for a clean audit report. This is the 11th time the District has received an award from the Ohio Auditor of State. This award is presented to entities that not only file a Comprehensive Annual Financial Report and timely financial reports in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles, but those that also receive a “clean” audit report, which means that the District’s financial audit did not contain findings for recovery, material citations, material weaknesses, significant deficiencies, single audit findings or any questioned costs.
“It may seem to some that this is an ‘automatic’ recognition,” said President Dr. John Kelly, North Royalton Board of Education. “It most definitely is not. The achievement of this recognition is a testament to Treasurer Biagio Sidoti and his entire financial team. Even during a massive changeover to a totally new state accounting system, our treasurer’s department has continued to set high standards and employ sound financial practices. Congratulations to all involved and especially to Mr. Sidoti who continues to blaze new trails of financial excellence for our schools and community.”
“By keeping excellent financial records, this school district shows that they have the best interest of students in mind,” said Auditor of State Keith Faber. Faber came to the District to present the award personally on January 22. He said that the "Award with Distinction" is only given to four percent of the more than 6,000 audits they perform.
