North Royalton City Schools’ Kindergarten Registration for the 2021-22 School Year Begins February 1, 2021
Residents of the North Royalton City School District who have a child who will be five years old by September 30, 2021 are invited to register their child for kindergarten beginning February 1, 2021.
In order to allow for the safety of our families and staff, we have moved our registration process at this time to completely online. We will continue to update the registration site as needed.
There are several components of the new online process that MUST be completed in order for your child to be registered. Please log onto the website www.northroyaltonsd.org
for information and links to registration.
Both the traditional (2 ½ days) and all day, every day options will be available. The all day, every day option is tuition based. The cost for this option for the 2021-22 school year is $2,100.00. Should the number of all day kindergarten registrations exceed the number of spots available, a lottery will be held. This will occur on March 26, 2021. You must have completed all components of registration by the end of the business day on Wednesday, February 24th with all required paperwork completed and submitted in order to be considered for the all day, every day kindergarten. Families not interested in the all day, every day option will be enrolled in the traditional 2 ½ day program.
EARLY ENTRANCE (GRADE ACCELERATION) TO KINDERGARTEN:
Parents in the North Royalton City School District who are interested in learning more about early entrance to kindergarten, which is also considered grade acceleration, for their child should call the Office of Pupil Services at 440-582-9140 by April 9, 2021 for an explanation of the Early Entrance process, and to schedule a screening appointment for their child the week of
May 3, 2021.
A child may be considered for early entrance (grade acceleration) if the child’s fifth birthday falls between October 1 and December 31, 2021. The child must also meet district screening criteria in the areas of pre-academic, social and emotional development. Upon meeting these screening criteria, an additional assessment in the area of cognitive ability will be required. Parents who have questions about this process should contact Mrs. Julie Bogden, Director of Pupil Services.
