Community Invited to attend North Royalton Health and Wellness Fair on September 25
As conversations surrounding health and wellness have become increasingly prevalent throughout the course of the past year-and-a-half, residents across the area are invited to attend the annual North Royalton Health Fair & Family Expo, featuring a plethora of exciting opportunities. Taking place on Saturday, September 25 from 8 a.m. to noon, the event will be hosted at North Royalton High School (NRHS), located on 14713 Ridge Rd., and emceed by NRHS English teacher Jonathan Dietrich. With this free event including a 5K Bear Run and a one-mile Wellness Walk with Dr. Kutaiba Tabbaa, who serves as a specialist for University Hospital Parma Medical Center, prizes will also be awarded to those who perform well in the 5K Bear Run.
In addition, residents can participate in a Family Bear Walk marked with entertaining, interactive stations for those of all ages to engage with. As a complementary pancake and sausage breakfast will be provided, those in attendance can also expect door prizes, raffle drawings, and the chance to meet both the Jump Yard’s mascot and North Royalton Schools’ bear mascot, Gibby.
In order to give back to the community, non-perishable food donations are welcomed to help benefit the North Royalton Food Bank. Additionally, as a way to help surrounding areas amid a time in which the country is experiencing an immense blood shortage, citizens will have the opportunity to give blood throughout the entirety of the event, and registration can be completed through www.vitalant.org/ohiodonorportal.
Serving as a reminder of the abundance of resources residents are fortunate to have, University Hospitals Parma Medical Center and Southwest General will hold free health screenings for a variety of concerns, and health care representatives will be available to discuss personal worries or risks. With visits from important community figures, including the North Royalton Police, Fire, and Safety departments, appearances will also be made by lovable dogs from Lake Erie Labrador Retriever Rescue and Southwest General Healing Paws.
Including an abundance of interactive events for residents to take part in, the Health Fair & Family Expo is a fantastic opportunity to learn about the ways in which numerous local hospitals promote wellness and health, and engage in many fun, family-related activities throughout the morning.
