CVCC Student Spotlight
Lily Osborne is a junior at North Royalton High School and is enrolled in CVCC’s Construction Trades program instructed by Mr. Yuravak. Lily has always liked working with her hands, and felt CVCC’s program would allow her to development quality work skills, as well as leadership opportunities. Lily enjoys working with other students and learning from her instructor. Having the precision needed for the construction field can take a lot of practice, time and patience; however, Lily is always up for the challenge. Lily appreciates CVCC providing an environment for students to be able to learn more about areas they are passionate about.

Lily has continued to show her leadership skills through becoming president of her class at CVCC, having perfect attendance, and pursuing opportunities through SkillsUSA. SkillsUSA is a national organization of students involved in trade and industrial education. The organization helps students explore occupations through skills competitions and visits to industries, while helping them understand the responsibilities of skilled workers. Recently, Lily met with Jackie Walker, the State SkillsUSA Director, to discuss the opportunity for her to be a Regional Candidate for the North Central SkillsUSA chapter. She is interested in continuing to pursue higher leadership roles within SkillsUSA during her time at CVCC.

Lily is also a dancer for the marching band at North Royalton High School, and works part-time at Dairy Queen. In her free time, Lily enjoying being outside and hiking. In her future, Lily hopes to gain further experience and pursue Construction Management. She hopes to be able to make a difference by being involved in environmentally friendly, or “green” construction at some point as well.
