Penelope Bly, a standout senior from North Royalton High School, has been named the Cuyahoga Valley Career Center (CVCC) Student Spotlight for April 2025.

Currently enrolled in the Sports Medicine Exercise Science program under instructor Shawn Fahey, Penelope discovered her passion for fitness and helping others during her time at CVCC. Drawn to the program's hands-on learning and real-world applications, she quickly found her stride, especially enjoying the opportunity to create personalized workout plans for classmates.

“I loved seeing how much this program connects to real careers,” said Penelope. “It made learning exciting and purposeful.”

Penelope’s accomplishments extend beyond the classroom. As a dedicated member of HOSA – Future Health Professionals – she recently claimed 1st place in Sports Medicine at the HOSA State Conference in Toledo, a testament to her hard work and growing confidence.

Following graduation, Penelope plans to attend Cuyahoga Community College (Tri-C), where she will pursue a degree in the Physical Therapist Assisting Program. She is also a member of the National Technical Honor Society (NTHS), works at BrewWall, and is actively involved in community volunteering and faith-based activities.

Penelope advises future CVCC students to dive in fully: “Take it seriously and ask questions. The more you put in, the more you’ll get out. Don’t settle for the bare minimum—this experience can really set you up for success.”
