On Saturday, October 25, the North Royalton High School Marching Band traveled to Columbus to compete in the Ohio Music Education Association (OMEA) State Marching Band Finals. The 240-member ensemble once again demonstrated its excellence, earning the highest rating possible and achieving its 35th consecutive Superior Rating at the state level.

This year’s show, titled “Reflections,” impressed audiences and judges alike throughout the season. The band brought home numerous awards at regional competitions, including First Place in Class AA, Best Overall Music, Best Overall Visual, Best Auxiliary in Class AA, and the prestigious Grand Champion title.

“The band has worked very hard this season, and it is exciting to see the show develop and to see the students' skills improve and progress to a very high level,” said Director of Bands David Vitale. “We have worked to refine the show, incorporating adjudicator feedback throughout the season, and to see the final product down in Columbus at the State Finals shows a lot of growth from the students and a tremendous amount of work and effort from the entire group as well as the band staff.”

The band wrapped up its marching season with the annual End-of-Season Concert on October 28. From there, students will transition into concert band season, preparing for their next performances at the district’s upcoming holiday concerts in December.
