On November 13, the seniors at North Royalton High School participated in the school’s annual Senior Interview event. With the dedicated support of the North Royalton High School Counseling Department and Career Specialist Jill Larson, students presented the portfolios they have been building throughout their high school careers. This year, seniors created their portfolios on a new platform, School Links.
Completion and presentation of the Senior Portfolio is a graduation requirement at North Royalton High School. The process begins when students enter as freshmen and continues through their senior year. As part of preparing for graduation, each student presents their portfolio to an interview team.
The purpose of the Senior Portfolio Interview is to give students an opportunity to showcase their high school accomplishments. During the interview, students highlight key elements of their portfolio and respond to questions about their post-graduation plans and goals. Interview panels consisted of North Royalton staff members as well as volunteers from the local community. This year, the school welcomed an exceptional number of community participants, including professionals in fields such as medicine, spa ownership, firefighting, digital forensics, and social work.
We extend our sincere thanks to the following volunteers: Lisa Matson, Greg Kelley, Alescia Rowles, Anthony Strazzo, Laurie Weiser, Dr. Rina D’Abramo, Lori Inks, Becky Baldwin, Amanda Matei, Karrie Palmer, Jill Arendt, Lisa Sibits, Dr. Mark, Kristen Steele, Jayson Saul, Dr. Kathy Payne, Lisa Bargmann, Amy Stauffer, and Carline Culbertson. Their time and support were instrumental in making the day a success.
Feedback from interviewers was overwhelmingly positive, with comments such as: “Always a great day— I look forward to it,” “Our kids are great!” and “Excellent to see the diversity within our school,” as well as “Continue this amazing day for students.”
Students also shared their appreciation for the experience. Many entered the interview nervous but left with smiles and a sense of accomplishment. Reflections included: “It was fun,” and “Thank you to all the North Royalton teachers and staff for making this a memorable experience. It was a seamless process, and I learned a lot from it.”
The Senior Interview continues to be a meaningful and memorable milestone for the graduating class of North Royalton High School.
