North Royalton High School is proud to celebrate senior Albert Armin, who has officially met the challenge of the United States Congress by earning the Congressional Award Silver Certificate—a national honor recognizing initiative, service, and personal growth in America’s youth.
The Congressional Award, established into law in 1979, is the only charity of the United States Congress. Its purpose is to inspire, encourage, and celebrate young people who set and achieve meaningful goals. Open to youth ages 13½ to 23, the program challenges students to complete ambitious, self-directed targets in four key areas—Voluntary Public Service, Personal Development, Physical Fitness, and Expedition/Exploration.
Albert rose to the challenge with commitment, leadership, and a passion for serving others. To earn the Silver Certificate, participants must complete 60 hours of voluntary service, 30 hours of personal development, 30 hours of physical fitness, and a minimum two-day exploration of a new culture or environment.
Armin went above and beyond in each category. In describing his voluntary public service, he shared: “I served as a Blood Services Manager for the Northern Ohio Red Cross Chapter, where I contacted volunteers across the region to staff blood drives. Then, I was selected to be an officer of the Red Cross Youth Executive Board, Northern Ohio. In this capacity, I help to organize youth recruitment and engagement, as well as collaborate on service projects at the Red Cross headquarters in Cleveland. Additionally, I volunteered as a historical reenactor to help educate members of the public across Ohio.”
“Working on the Congressional Award offered me an excellent opportunity to track the depth of my service projects, along with other personal goals in development, physical fitness, and exploration,” said Armin. “It was a great experience to earn this award through service, and it motivated me to continue expanding my efforts.”
Armin’s achievement reflects his strong work ethic, passion for learning, and dedication to making a difference—qualities that exemplify the spirit of North Royalton students.
“The North Royalton school community joins in congratulating Albert Armin on this accomplishment,” said Principal Kristin Hubbell. “His commitment to service and personal growth is an inspiration, and the district looks forward to seeing where his leadership will take him next.”
