North Royalton High School has earned Silver recognition on the 2025 Advanced Placement® (AP®) School Honor Roll, an honor announced by the College Board that recognizes schools for expanding access to Advanced Placement coursework while maintaining strong student performance. NRHS earned Bronze in 2023 and 2024.
The AP School Honor Roll highlights schools whose AP programs are successfully building a college-going culture, increasing opportunities for students to earn college credit, and strengthening overall college readiness. Schools earn this recognition annually based on performance data tied to participation and achievement in AP courses.
At North Royalton High School, 50% of seniors took at least one AP exam during high school, 42% earned a score of 3 or higher on at least one AP exam, and 15% of seniors completed five or more AP exams, meeting the criteria for Silver distinction.
North Royalton High School currently offers 19 Advanced Placement courses, providing students with a wide range of rigorous, college-level learning opportunities across multiple subject areas. The high school is adding two more Advanced Placement courses for the 2026-27 school year.
“This recognition reflects our commitment to academic excellence, equitable access to advanced coursework, and the hard work of our students and teachers who rise to the challenge of college-level learning,” said Principal Kristin Hubbell.
“AP gives students the opportunity to engage with college-level work, earn college credit and placement, and build professional career skills they can use no matter what path they choose after high school,” said Trevor Packer, head of the AP program. “Congratulations to this year’s AP School Honor Roll recipients for proving it’s possible to expand participation in these rigorous courses and still drive strong performance.”
North Royalton City Schools is committed to preparing students for success beyond graduation by offering rigorous academic programming, strong student supports, and pathways that align with students’ college and career goals. Recognition on the AP School Honor Roll reflects the district’s ongoing focus on high expectations, instructional quality, and student achievement.
College Board’s Advanced Placement® Program (AP®) enables students to pursue college-level studies—with the opportunity to earn college credit, advanced placement, or both—while still in high school. Through AP courses in 40 subjects, each culminating in a challenging exam, students learn to think critically, construct solid arguments, and see many sides of an issue—skills that prepare them for college and beyond.
