North Royalton High School senior Albert Armin has been named a candidate in the prestigious U.S. Presidential Scholars Program, one of the nation’s highest honors for graduating high school seniors.
Armin is among more than 5,000 students selected nationwide from nearly 3.6 million graduating seniors for the 2026 program. Candidates are recognized for exceptional academic achievement, leadership, character, and involvement in school and community activities.
Established in 1964, the U.S. Presidential Scholars Program honors some of the most distinguished students across the country for their accomplishments and their potential to make meaningful contributions to society. Each year, a distinguished panel of educators reviews candidates’ applications, with approximately 600 students advancing to semifinalist status before final Presidential Scholars are announced.
“Albert’s recognition as a Presidential Scholars candidate reflects the dedication, perseverance, and academic excellence that define North Royalton High School students,” said Principal Kristin Hubbell. “We are proud to celebrate this remarkable achievement and look forward to seeing all that he will accomplish in the future.”
As part of the program, candidates submit essays, school recommendations, and records of their academic and extracurricular involvement for further review. Finalists selected as U.S. Presidential Scholars receive the Presidential Scholars Medallion in recognition of their achievements.
