North Royalton City Schools is proud to announce that North Royalton High School senior Albert L. Armin has been selected as a recipient of the highly competitive National Merit PPG Foundation Community Scholarship.
This distinguished Merit Scholarship® is awarded through the National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC) and is sponsored by the PPG Foundation. Corporate-sponsored scholarships such as this one recognize exceptional students who demonstrate outstanding academic achievement, strong character, and significant potential for future success.
Albert’s accomplishment places him among an elite group of students nationwide who have advanced through the rigorous National Merit Scholarship Program. Of the more than 1.3 million students who enter the program each year, only about 16,000 are named Semifinalists, and approximately 15,000 advance to Finalist standing. From this highly selective pool, a limited number are chosen to receive scholarships sponsored by corporations, colleges, and the National Merit Scholarship Corporation itself.
The PPG Foundation Community Scholarship is awarded to students who meet specific criteria established by the sponsor, often recognizing academic excellence as well as community connection and future aspirations aligned with the sponsor’s mission.
“Albert’s recognition as a National Merit Scholarship winner is a testament to his dedication, hard work, and commitment to excellence,” said Principal Kristin Hubbell. “We are incredibly proud of his achievement and look forward to all he will accomplish in the future.”
