Assistant Superintendent Melissa Vojta provided the North Royalton Board of Education and community with a teaching and learning update during the Board’s regular meeting on May 28.

Vojta highlighted the district’s continued commitment to providing students with a wide range of academic opportunities and support services designed to meet the needs of all learners.

“We are very fortunate that we are able to offer a plethora of elective course choices for our students to take and pride ourselves on the fact that we make well-rounded and career-influenced opportunities for our students,” Vojta shared during the meeting.

District administrators and staff have spent the past several weeks working on student placements for the upcoming school year while also reviewing intervention needs to ensure students receive the appropriate academic support.

At the high school level, students will have access to summer credit recovery opportunities, along with remediation and retesting options for End-of-Course exams.

In addition, invited students in grades K-3 will have access to reading intervention opportunities in July aimed at strengthening foundational literacy skills and supporting continued academic growth.

Vojta also emphasized the district’s ongoing investment in professional development for staff members throughout the summer months. Teachers across the district will participate in training opportunities focused on gifted education, intensive phonics instruction, and Advanced Placement coursework.

North Royalton City Schools will also host two workshops centered on understanding and supporting the needs of students with autism, further strengthening the district’s commitment to inclusive practices and student success.

Vojta noted that these efforts reflect North Royalton City Schools’ dedication to providing high-quality learning experiences and preparing students for future academic and career opportunities.
