BEAR Way Meetings

We held 3 of our 4 BEAR Way meetings with the principals this past week, and we had a blast. Students showed off their best power poses, read a story focused on how a student their age was able to demonstrate resilience during a difficult moment, and competed across the gym in a resilience relay race. Students made awesome suggestions for how we could continue to show resilience throughout this quarter, and their work will be on display in the building soon. I am so proud of the energy and effort they put into those meetings, and I am grateful for the staff support. I will see our 8th graders on Thursday this week, and look forward to more of the same!

In other awesome news, five students from North Royalton Middle School were named winners in the prestigious 47th Annual Marilyn Bianchi Kids’ Playwriting Festival, hosted by Dobama Theatre. Check out the story when you scroll down on our site.

As always, please do not hesitate to contact your child's teacher, school counselor, grade level principal or me with any questions.

Thank you,

Erin

Ohio State Testing

The ELA OSTs kickoff this Monday and Tuesday for most of our students. Please make sure that your child gets a good-night’s rest and arrives with a fully charged chromebook. It is important that students arrive at school on time. Our students are definitely ready to show what they know. I know they will give their best effort and show resilience in those moments when testing feels draining or overwhelming. Thank you for your support.

Washington D.C. Extended Field Trip

The extended field trip to Washington D.C. is rapidly approaching. There will be an informational parent meeting on Wednesday, April 16 at 6:30 p.m. in the NRMS Purple Gym to finalize all details pertaining to the field trip.

7th and 8th Grade Dance

The dance will take place on Friday, April 25 from 6:30-8:30pm in the Gold Gym. The theme is Paris Under the Stars. Tickets are $7 when purchased at school and $10 at the door. Ticket sales will begin on Tuesday, April 22.

6th Grade Take Your Child to Work

Take Your Child to Work Day is April 24. NRMS Recognizes this day as an opportunity for our 6th graders to explore careers. 6th grade teams will follow up with student families in March regarding this day; hopefully you saw a permission slip come home recently.
