Down the Home Stretch

We are down to our last 5 weeks of school, and that means the student recognition ceremonies, final performances, and field days are going to keep us all very busy. This week is Staff Appreciation Week. Kids will have opportunities to write notes to the staff members that have had a meaningful impact on them throughout the year. Administration, PTA, and our staff-led Positive Posse have a few other fun things in store for our amazing adults. If you get a second this week, don’t hesitate to reach out and let the adult members of our NRMS community know they are appreciated. I look forward to seeing our families throughout this next month.

As always, please do not hesitate to contact your child's teacher, school counselor, grade level principal or me with any questions.

Thank you,

Erin

Fall Sports Meeting

On Friday May 9, fall sports coaches met with interested 6th,7th,8th graders regarding fall sports. Information for final forms was given out. Students interested in trying out for fall sports can begin using final forms/submit their complete physical after June 10. Please contact Julie Gangale if you have any questions. https://northroyalton-oh.finalforms.com/

Medical Information for future 7th graders

The Ohio Department of Health has updated the immunization requirements for students entering 7th grade. All Ohio students entering 7th grade must now have had a Tdap booster and one dose of meningococcal vaccine. Please see requirements here

Field Days

Field days are approaching! Our campus is hosting a rather large tournament track meet this May, so we are back to the Memorial Park soccer field for our field days this year. With that in mind, please help your students prepare what they may need for that day including sunscreen and a water bottle. Please see our Field Day dates below:

  • Grade 5 - May 28

  • Grade 6 - May 29

  • Grade 7 - May 30

  • Grade 8 - June 4 after lunch

NRMS Cafeteria Upgrades

We are very excited to announce the board has approved a remodel of our middle school food service area. This renovation will allow us to replace significant equipment, upgrade our menu offerings, and provide a beautiful new service facility for our students.

How does this affect you? The food service area will be shut down starting May 27, 2025. We will have lunch and breakfast options available, but they will be limited. It is imperative we get a head start on construction, so we can finish in time for the start of the 25-26 school year. During the weeks of May 27, 2025 and June 2, 2025, only limited meal options will be available. Lunch menus on my school menus have already been updated.

Please forward any questions to the food service director Harry Swartzlander at Harry.swartzlander@northroyaltonsd.org
