North Royalton Middle School (NRMS) students came together on Friday, October 3, for “NR Bears Care Day” sponsored by the NRMS Student Council—an afternoon dedicated to fostering school spirit and belonging by team building, showing kindness, and supporting North Royalton school families in need.
All students grades 5-8 participated in a variety of activities, including a grade-level walk and kindness project in the gym. Donations gave students the opportunity to “win” a chance to participate in a friendly, but lively, tug-of-war competition, while everyone enjoyed popsicles generously provided by our amazing NRMS PTA.
The event not only encouraged school spirit and connection but also raised funds to directly benefit and impact North Royalton Middle School families in need. The “NR Bears Care Day” highlighted the school’s commitment to community, compassion, and teamwork–values that students clearly recognize and appreciate.
When asked what “NR Bear Care Day” means to them, students shared thoughtful responses:
Grace Fatkins: “I like being able to socialize and make a difference.”
Josie Postma: “It is fun to hang out with my friends and support my community.”
Prachi A: “It’s a day dedicated to supporting the community.”
Carson Evangelista: “It celebrates kindness and friendship.”
Their words perfectly capture the spirit of the day–one filled with friendship, fun, and the collective pride of the NRMS Bears community.
